The Chase

En Ciudad Rodrigo cuando hacemos las cosas, las hacemos bien. Y esto es una prueba de ello.
La empresa Volvo ha puesto a un camión Volvo FL (12 toneladas) rojo a correr delante de unos ocho toros. El camión recorre dos kilómetros en un encierro.

It's been a while since I've written something in Dutch... but today I felt like it.

Hace mucho que no escribo en neerlandés... pero hoy me hacía falta.

... DANKBAAR ...

Ik moet het toegeven, ik heb het wel vaker voor in m'n leven.
Dan begin ik sterk om iemand te geven, word ik omringd door dat gevoel
Dan doe ik er alles aan, wordt die persoon m'n doel.
Maar dan plots in dat hele proces krijg ik het benauwd, krijg ik stress.
Roept men hart mijn gevoelens terug, zegt het "je gaat te vlug".

Ik besef dat dat het ook voor jou moeilijk maakt
en dat het je ontzettend diep raakt
Ik besef dat jij ook zit in dit verhaal
en dat ik na een hoogtepunt plots heel snel daal.

Maar dat is hoe ik ben, zo zit ik in elkaar
En weet ik ben je dankbaar
voor elke knipoog, voor elke lach
Ja weet, het is wel zwaar
maar de stilte van het moment
is iets waar je aan went.

Ik zie het in je ogen, ze houden je tranen van verdriet
Ik moet het hierbij laten, maar kwetsen wil ik je niet
Het zou niet eerlijk van me zijn
als ik zonder enige uitleg uit je leven verdwijn
Het zou niet mooi van me zijn
Als ik je alleen liet met de pijn.

Dus blijf ik nog wel even
om je voldoende uitleg te geven
er voor te zorgen dat je me kan vergeven
voordat ik stap uit je leven

En weet, ik blijf je dankbaar
voor elk moment, voor elk gebaar

"Age quod agis"

A couple of days ago I came across this beautiful documentary made by Sara Riesco and her team (Susana, Ricardo, Paula and Beatriz). 

It tells the story of a man I've known my whole life: Michael Heater. Ever since I can remember Michael plays his violin on "Plaza del Liceo" in Salamanca (Spain). His music is pure magic and every musician that has had the chance to hear him plays can say he's a rare talent. 
On top of that he's the nicest and most humble person ever. Always accompanied by his dog and a big smile on his face he brightens up the day of many people walking by.

Hace un par de días me encontré con este hermoso documental realizado por Sara Riesco y su equipo (Susana, Ricardo, Paula y Beatriz).

Cuenta la historia de un hombre que conozco de toda la vida: Michael Heater. Desde que tengo memoria Michael toca su violín en la Plaza del Liceo" en Salamanca (España). Su música es pura magia y cualquier músico que haya tenido la oportunidad de escucharlo puede decir que tiene un grán talento.

Además, es una persona muy agradable y más que humilde. Siempre acompañado por su perro y una gran sonrisa en su rostro que ilumina el día de muchas personas caminando por allí.

Birds

One of my favorite singers, Anouk, will represent The Netherlands during next the Eurovision Song Contest in May. Yesterday she presented her song called "Birds" at Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum. And she did it in her own way.... 

The song will be on her next album 'Sad Singalong Song'.

El Campanazo

El Carnaval del Toro es una de las citas más importantes del año en Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca). La fiesta, los toros, las horas en la calle, los amigos... pero lo que a mi mas me gusta es "El Campanazo".
Todo el mundo se reúne en la Plaza Mayor, recibe su pañuelo del Carnaval y juntos dan la bienvenida a una semana llena de alegría. Es precioso.

El Carnaval del Toro is one of the most important events of the year in Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca). The party, the bulls, the hours on the streets, the friends ... but what I most like is "El Campanazo".
Everyone gathers on the Plaza Mayor, gets the typical Carnival scarf and welcomes a week full of joy. It's beautiful.

Marca Registrada

New work by my favorite Spanish rock band Marca Registrada. 

The group consists of five Salmantinos : Jorge Montero (lead singer and guitarist), Miky Herrera (guitarist and vocals...and my cousin!), Ruben Arganda (guitar), Guillermo Crespo (bass) and Mario Blanco (drums).
